Mad hair day and stuff!

  • Mood:
  • Health:

Oh I fancied a bit of a me day and bugger what others thought so I dyed my hair a real mad shade red, a real royal mail scarlet red!

Just the underneath and the sides but wow did it show! I turned up at martin's cottage and he said well I know you're gothy but christ shaz, you could of warned me!

Well I'd been to the hosptial a few days before and the oncologist skin specialist had given me the all clear now  so I was a bit la la!   No more check ups or nothing unless I find anything else suspicious looking (keep 'em crossed)   (they can re-occur). I've got some special high factor lotion (50 spf plus) from the doctor for when it's hot to put on, so I stay safe on any exposed parts. Got my hat. Sun glasses, long sleeved tops and so on! What a palarver!

There we are, my everlasting reminder of never to sunbathe.

The end result of too much sun bathing / burning / sunbeds many years ago. Doesn't look like it can kill you does it? The melanoma that was removed was 12mm x 7mm (not much bigger than the normal mole on the left). That above was the amount of flesh that had to be removed on the 2nd exision to make sure it was all caught.

If you must have a tan, fake it because it's preventable!

So, back to the hair...Here is me looking very vampish , just aswell I'm very pale and having to avoid the sun. Quite ironic really, not been in the sun for years!  I think it kind of goes all very well!

This is a Jet beaded vampyra head circlet, I'm making,as part of a gothic set for my jewellery site.

I'm starting to make alot more gothic themed jewellery now. I didn't tend to make much when I wasn't very well, but now I'm getting on the mend I've got more interest in things! I think that when I'm working with my beads and things I've got to be in tip top condition (even though I do ground myself ), as I feel my energies rub off on them a little, especially when working with the mineral Jet. I don't wan't to pass on any negativities to my customers which can be hard if you're feeling off colour.

I made some very cute witchy earrings made from faceted Jet nuggets and sterling witches hats for samhain on hoops. Got to put them on the site.

My work is getting exceptionally boring . I love chatting to the donors and doing alot of my job (some of it is mind blowingly boring). Some of my colleages are fine but others do my head in and I find hearing the same old stories dull. I find myself withdrawing into myself   and staying quiet as I haven't got the patience to talk to them. They are either boasting about money, possesions or something else that means nothing to me which I don't really care about.

These days, I'm last in and first out.

Home is my first thought.

Hi Sharon....long time no see but very happy to hear from you. Im doing ok...2 weeks today until I have my last babes by C- Section if things don't kick in first...sooner, glad that will soon be over with...lol.I am covered in moles that haven't been checked for 3 years so this visit was a reminder for me....too much sun exposure as a kid, fishing and beaching it with uneducated parents.I come from Queensland , Australia which they say is the cancer capitol of the world...even the skin Dr I saw here in the US mentioned that he had been to a conference down there on the subject.
I will be back again soon...just wanted to thank you for your visit. Take care ;)

That sunburn looks pretty bad, on the other hand your hair looks really good, so I guess it all balances out.

I layed in the sun when young to get a tan. There is more wrinkled skin in those areas now. I've tried to stay out of the sun or use protection the last 10 - 15 years and sometimes get remarks about being too pale. Being pale is fine. My skin is a lot healthier for it. I remember reading Gone with the Wind about how it was popular to stay pale back then and wear the big sun bonnets, etc.
